Eindhoven, June 15, 2021 – Rockfield Real Estate, in collaboration with Spoorzone BV and contractor Stam en de Koning Bouw, has completed the residential building “LUX.” This high-quality complex consists of 199 affordable rental apartments intended for the DULV fund, managed by Rockfield Investment Management.
Spoorzone BV and Rockfield Real Estate previously entered into an agreement for the purchase of LUX, a unique residential building designed by KENK Architects in the railway zone area of Strijp-S in Eindhoven.
The impressive residential building stands 18 stories tall and comprises 199 rental apartments, a commercial space, rooftop terraces, and an inner courtyard. The apartments are delivered as move-in ready units, with a variety of 2-room apartments, studios, and also several “Friends apartments.”
The 199 rental apartments are managed by The Cohesion, Rockfield’s co-living concept. This makes Eindhoven home to a vibrant new co-living community, contributing to the ambitions of making Strijp-S an even more dynamic district. The community of The Cohesion LUX has already met and is preparing to move in soon.
Since 2002, VolkerWessels has been involved in the former Philips industrial site Strijp-S, with SDK Vastgoed acting as the delegated area developer on behalf of Spoorzone BV.
“We are very pleased with the arrival of LUX. The intended residential concept targets a demographic that is not yet being served in this area. In this way, we also offer starters the opportunity to settle here in a pleasant and affordable manner,” said Ferdinand Gremmen, director of Spoorzone BV.
With LUX, Rockfield Real Estate has acquired its first property in the Eindhoven region and is actively working to develop and invest in more properties in the area.
“We have been looking forward to this moment; Eindhoven fits perfectly into our strategy when it comes to investing in affordable housing in urban areas,” said Wouter van den Eijnden, CEO of Rockfield Real Estate.
