Location and area

Block 3, also known as ‘The Rock,’ is a striking residential project within the transformation of the Binkhorst, The Hague. Binck City Park is an ambitious area development that is transforming itself from a traditional industrial area into a modern city district where living, working and recreation are central. This development plays a key role in the wider transformation of the Binkhorst, an area once dominated by industrial estates and now being redeveloped into a vibrant, urban environment. The plan for Binck City Park is committed to a varied range of housing and facilities, aimed at a wide audience of starters, students, young professionals and families. The site benefits from a favourable location in Laak district, with direct connections to the centre of The Hague and other important economic hubs in the region.

Living and sustainability

The Rock will include 99 rental apartments in the affordable and mid-rent segment, specifically aimed at young professionals seeking an urban living environment with amenities that enhance social cohesion. The ground floor of the building will feature communal spaces and commercial and social functions, which will make an important contribution to the development of the neighbourhood, known as Binck City Park.
In addition, 197 student apartments will be built, which once completed in the first quarter of 2025 will be managed for a period of 15 years by a renowned non-profit student housing company. This mix of housing forms creates a diverse and dynamic living environment aimed at starters and middle-income earners. One of the unique features of The Rock are the roof gardens with biodiverse planting, which not only provide a green oasis in the city but also a habitat for birds and insects. Moreover, rainwater is collected and used to irrigate the plantings, contributing to the sustainability of the project.
