Location and Area

Little Manhattan is right next to Lelylaan Station, one of Amsterdam’s main public transport hubs. This area is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation by the municipality and NS, with improved traffic flows and an upgrade of the station itself. The location offers excellent connections via train, metro, bus and tram, as well as easy access by bicycle and car. Thanks to this location, residents are within minutes of the city centre or recreational areas such as Rembrandtpark and Sloterpark. Little Manhattan represents one of the pioneering housing developments that will help transform the Amsterdam Lelylaan station area from an isolated infrastructure hub into a vibrant and safe destination for living and working.

Housing

Composed around a courtyard, the building consists of two towers with a total of 869 residences, divided into 590 student studios and 279 residences for young professionals. The student residences range from 25 to 41 m² and are equipped with their own kitchen, bathroom and toilet. The homes for young professionals, with an average size of 41 m², are perfectly tailored to first-time buyers looking for a modern and comfortable living space. The homes for young professionals are designed for starters in the housing market who need well laid-out studios and two-bedroom flats. All homes are delivered ready to move in with modern kitchens, luxury bathrooms and high-quality floor and window coverings, and the higher floors offer impressive views of the city.

Sustainability

The project is highly committed to sustainability, with energy-efficient features such as high-quality insulation and WTW system, contributing to low energy bills and a reduced ecological footprint. The homes use district heating, an environmentally friendly way of heating that reduces CO2 emissions. Moreover, charging points for electric vehicles are available, which perfectly matches the sustainable mobility ambitions of the city of Amsterdam.

Living concept

The living concept of Little Manhattan by The Cohesion, focuses heavily on creating a sense of community. As many as nine communal spaces are available for the 279 homes for young professionals, including a gym, cinema, workspaces, study areas and meeting spaces. The student residences, operated by partner DUWO. The shared roof terrace, connecting the two towers, provides an ideal place to relax and meet. This makes Little Manhattan a lively living environment, where residents not only find a home, but also a social community. In addition to the residential spaces, four commercial spaces have been developed, including restaurants, further enhancing the vibrancy of the area.
