Location and area

The apartment complex, consisting of 19 floors and a commercial plinth of about 1000m2, accommodates 157 rental appartments and 236 tenants. Of these, 66 appartments have been implemented in the FRIENDS concept and 48 mid-rent flats. Highnote thus responds to the great demand for affordable and central urban housing for starters and, with its lively plinth function and outdoor spaces, offers an inspiring and social place for its residents and visitors to the city. By realising 66 FRIENDS homes, Highnote is responding to the housing needs of starters in the Almere housing market. In this concept, the house and thus the rent are shared, making it possible for starters to live at A-locations in cities. There are also several semi-public outdoor spaces with their own atmosphere and design (the Hof, the Werf and the Daktuin). Living, working, staying and meeting flow together here. Highnote is in the heart of the city centre, a 5-minute walk from Almere Central Station. There are around 400 retail shops and restaurants in Almere city centre within easy reach of Highnote.

Living

Highnote offers three different types of apartments to meet various living needs: 61 one-bedroom flats, 66 FRIENDS homes and 30 studios, ranging from 46 sqm to 106 sqm. These properties are ideal for house-sharing couples and individuals looking for a comfortable and modern living environment. Highnote was the first location where we introduced the innovative matching tool. This tool helps residents who would like to live together but do not yet have a flatmate, by matching them with a suitable flatmate. This not only promotes cohabitation, but also helps build new friendships and communities. Each flat at Highnote is spacious and efficiently laid out, with plenty of space to retreat to or sit in the communal areas. In addition, each flat has a balcony, where tenants can relax and enjoy the outdoors.

Sustainability

Sustainability plays an important role in the Highnote project. The building meets strict energy performance standards and uses modern, energy-efficient installations. The facades feature advanced glazing systems and insulation materials that contribute to lower energy consumption. The green gardens with water retention systems are also a valuable feature, these systems capture rainwater, retain it, and slowly release it, which can help reduce flooding and relieve pressure on the urban sewerage system.

Livingconcept

Highnote was developed with a residential concept aimed at younger residents, including students, starters and young professionals. The concept is based on ‘The Cohesion’ platform, which encourages community building and social interaction. Residents benefit from various shared facilities, including common work spaces, relaxation areas and a roof terrace. These shared spaces are designed to encourage interaction between residents, enhancing social cohesion in the building. This is in line with the wider trend of co-living, where collective living and shared facilities contribute to a more connected and interactive residential community.
