Location and area

The Lofts is located in a lively urban area where many young, urban Amsterdammers live. This creates a varied green neighbourhood for living, working and recreation. Close to the Amstel river and just five minutes by bike from the bustling De Pijp district. The building is designed as a sturdy urban block with deep purple brickwork and vertical recessed piers, providing a framework for large industrial-looking windows. The characteristic ‘bay-windows’ offer each flat a wide view to the outside and a comfortable windowsill to sit in.

Living

The properties at The Lofts are micro-living and efficiently laid-out homes for young urban professionals. Each flat is equipped with modern conveniences such as a kitchen island and a French balcony or characteristic bay windows. In total, there are 205 studios, ranging from 30 m² to 40 m², and 7 one-bedroom flats.
These residences are designed to make the best use of the available space, creating a comfortable and stylish living environment, perfect for the young urban professional.

Sustainability

Sustainability is central to the design and implementation of The Lofts. The project uses solar panels and heat recovery systems, which reduces energy costs and contributes to lower CO2 emissions. The lofts are designed with a high energy label (minimum label A), indicating that the energy consumption of the homes is low. This is due to good insulation and energy-efficient appliances.

Living concept

The building’s plinth houses five commercial spaces and a communal co-working space, operated by residential concept The Cohesion. This contributes to a dynamic and connected community within The Lofts. In addition, residents have a spacious coworking space with a meeting room and a communal wash/dry room. In summer, tenants can use the sunny roof terrace, which is specially designed for gathering and relaxing. The on-site community manager links residents with activities.
